Broken in-game steering wheel animation

Product: EA SPORTS™ WRC
Platform:Xbox Series S
Summarize your bug The steering wheel animation in the cockpit is completely broken. The car responds to commands normally, but the steering wheel in the cockpit is turned to the maximum left. Sometimes the driver's hands are visible and sometimes they're not. This bug ruins any enjoyment of gaming. I'm playing using the original Xbox Series S controller.
How often does the bug occur? Every time (100%)
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Play any mode, any car. A bug happens in every car in every location.
What happens when the bug occurs? The steering wheel itself, or the driver's hands together with the steering wheel is turned to the maximum left, otherwise nothing else happens and the car is driving normally.
What do you expect to see? I expect the steering wheel animation to be normal, just like before the patch, and that in every car, in every case, the default steering wheel position is 0°.

The actual in-game photo.

Edit: I managed to partially solve the problem. It turns out that the problem lies rather in the game's misinterpretation of the dead zone settings. When the control settings are default, i.e. the dead zone is set to 20%, everything works fine, but when I change the setting to 15%, the problem remains and the animation is broken. I do not claim that there is no problem, because I prefer to play the second setting, so the problem is as current as possible and unsolved

Mine started doing it to, I also changed my deadzone to 15 so atleast you have found the cause

  • Yep I agree. Jumped on after the patch, and the in-game steering wheel seems slow compared to pre-patch. Used to be silky smooth but now only turns a little bit and likes to centre itself often.

Playing on Xbox Series X controller.

  • same issue. (PC)

I also play with Xbox controller. When steering deadzone is set to 15% it is bugged. When it's set to 10% or default there's no problem. It's visual only but kinda annoying.

After the patch, On PC the animation seems fixed (while driving)

The visual lag is gone and the in-game steering-wheel is in sync with my SimuCube wheel

  • @lowride187 I think this may actually be related in a way. Before the patch I used Deadzone 15, Sensitivity 90 and Linearity 0 on Controller.

After the patch, the animation issues started. Changing the Deadzone fixed it temporarily, but I still get the issue if I change that value around. Didn't find a "safe" setting yet.

    @0uvlluxksi38 Update for "safe settings":

To fix the visual glitch (full turning wheel), I found some settings that work on my system:

In the controller settings, I reset my device to the "Xbox Controller" profile (not Xbox One and not Xbox 360). From there, the bug started when I set my Deadzone to certain values (while using linearity 0):

Deadzone 15 and 14 were causing the glitch to occur. I think 12 and 11 too, but I'm not sure.

Safe values on my system were 10, 13 and 16.

So right now I'm using Linearity 0, Sensitivity between 85-90 and Deadzone either 10, 13 or 16. The full turn wheel glitch does not happen atm

Still, the animation looks choppy and twitchy, unless you lower the sensitivity below 85 or 80. :/
