Dots Flickering
Hi, I have problem with WRC graphic that have dots filckering in some places in screen. Example is in video below. https://youtu.be/AgMccjbmaeY. How to fix this? I'm on: - Ryzen 7 5700X - RX690...
I am having the same issue.
In general, my graphics seem to be deteriorating each time I play WRC. There are the flickering dots and shimmering around the edges of images, stuttering and frame drops, which causes pixelation of image, plus what some call artifacting in night rallies (flickering black dots on the track - possibly supposed to be shadows). Note I have the 1.3.0 patch.
I am running a:
Ryzen 5 5500 CPU
16 GB DDR4 3200 MHz RAM
GTX1660 Ti GPU
with Samsung 970 EVO plus NVME memory (500GB for OS, and 1TB for Games i.e. WRC),
On a MAG X570s Tomahawk MAX WiFi Motherboard.
Currently the graphics are on Low with Track on High, Fog ON, Skidmarks ON, Motion Blur ON, plus Temporal upscaling on Balanced. I have tried various combos to improve the image quality.
Turned up anti-aliasing, and anisotropic filtering and I still get the flickering dots and shimmering around the edges of images. I don't know if we can fix this with settings. I think the issue requires a patch.
Patch 1.4.0 has made a difference. I can now run at medium, with Fog On, Track High, Motion Blur Off. Upscaler is On, but using AMD Fidelity FX on Qualty, 0 Sharpness, with no weird shimmering or flickering dots in a day event.
Framerates were good at 67 to 92fps (Oceania), a couple of times it did dip to 55 and 58. When VSync is on (60fps) it seems to hold at 60fps.
But noted most of the shimmering and flickering dots are cause by the Upscalers. I did a night run in Mexico with the above settings and there was a few flickering black dots on the dirt track. Soon as I turned the Upscaler off they disappeared. However, with the Upscaler off the framerate dropped in the 50's at times.
