Fanatec shifter issues

I’m having issues with my Fanatec shifter in H-pattern and clutch mode. All gear selection positions have been mapped and binded appropriately, but every time I try to change up into 3rd or 5th, it’s a lottery as to whether I get 1, 3, or 5 (very frustrating if you’re doing 80mph and get 1st)

I was randomly getting reverse too, until I remapped reverse to 7th gear, now this issue is solved. I love playing the game with the full realism of H-shift and clutch, but this issue is breaking me! Help!

Happy to report, that I took the top off my Fanatec shifter, unplugged the cable, left it off for a minute or two, connected everything back up, and bingo!

I’ve not had a mis-shift, false neutral, or any other issue since! I would advise anyone to do this simple fix, before trying anything else, it works!

Thanks for the suggestion. I tried it and I still have the same issue. I tried it in dirt rally 2.0 and I have the same issue ☹️

I still have the same issue...I have Fanatec shifter connected via Clubsport adapter directly to my PC and when the game wants, it desconfigure the H pattern shifter every time. I´ve tried multiple things named here but nothing works....Did you found any definitive solution to this annoying problem?

    Thanks!

  • Is anyone even looking into this problem ?  My shifter works fine in every other game, only EA WRC manual H shift does not work properly as 1st gear keeps becoming Reverse.  I have tried every possible fix mentioned here and in other places but none are permanent and it goes back to being mixed up. Very frustrating and the fact H shift works fine in game like Dirt Rally 2,  AC and AMS2 with no problems indicates it is something about how EA WRC reads the shifter buttons.  Please fix this soon.

Hello I use a csldd on Xbox and have had this problem recently to fix it restart your console/pc and also never leave the game on quick resume if that doesn’t work try remapping the shifter or plug it out  and then back in :)

  • There are multiple issues here being discussed. Some are due to bugs in the game but others are caused by Fanatec hardware.

I use the Clubsport Shifter and have had lots of issues with mis-shifting, mainly between 2nd and 3rd gears, both up and down (in WRC, DR 2.0, AC1, AC EVO). When my shifter was still under warranty it went back and was returned a couple weeks later, everything worked fine for around 3 months then the same issue returned. Both the shifter and handbrake are incredibly sensitive to static/electrical charge. It is a known issue, reported by many people over the course of several years. Handbrakes are the worst culprits, without proper shielding of the wiring and potentiometer, mine would show completely random degrees of engagement between 20-85%. Pulling it to 100% would result in the same variation of recorded input level. Nothing has ever been done by Fanatec to rectify these issues, or even to acknowledge them to be honest.

You can search Reddit to find posts of people taking the PCB (the one with the hall-effect sensor on it) out of the shifter and insulating it with electrical tape before reseating it. There are also people who have shown that the magnet in their shifter is incorrectly aligned in the slot, causing the current gear position to be misread by the sensor. Fixing either or both of these issues has had mixed results, some people report that their shifter has been fine after, others report that the issues returned within a few weeks/months. Either way it will void your warranty if you still have one. These peripherals seem to suffer from bad insulation and don’t hold up well to extended use it seems.
