G29 FFB Broken in 1.8 update
After updating to 1.8 the FFB seems off for my G29. I'd almost say in some ways, it feels improved - it seems like the sliders go to 150 now not 130?
The main thing though is centering; when in menus and pre-race previously, the wheel would center following the self-centering options, this no longer happens - waiting for a race to start, the wheel is limp with no FFB then kicks in when you start racing.
Not only that, it's almost as if there was a *bit* of self-centering in previous versions, the wheel would definitely follow the cars wheels well, but, there was more resistance towards center, akin to what you feel in a real car. Note that the G HUB 'centering spring strength' setting has never had any effect in-game previously, nor does it now.
It's as if one of the contributing factors to the FFB fusion is completely missing now - with the vehicle stopped (after starting the race, of course) there is ZERO FFB resistance to turning the wheel - this is not how previous versions behaved and is exactly what I mean by it feels like a factor is missing.
It also no longer self-centers in menus and recoveries; that type of self-centering completely broken.
I've also checked over the input files, I don't see anything that has been changed since the last update or should affect anything for my wheel in `WRC/Content/input/Windows/*` (I'm a developer myself with 25+ years coding exp) - of course, there's a lot more to input/FFB that's not defined or visible in the XML files.
While this recent update says a ton about VR updates, it says nothing about any other changes that may have happened, at least that I noticed on the Steam post which normally shows a full changelog.
This game is now unplayable; I can't downgrade to a previous version because Steam and as it is, it always wanted to launch in VR - fortunately I know UE reasonably well and tossed `-NOVR` at it to fix that but considering that VR is supposedly BETA and by default it force launches in VR mode, I feel like I've been kicked to BETA on a game I've paid for - and now can't enjoy.
Please help - happy to work with you on this as an experienced dev, perhaps I can provide decent feedback/testing.
