Game doesn't start anymore since update 1.8 (via Steam)

Summarize your bug Since the 1.8 update, the game doesn't launch anymore on my PC via Steam. I click on play, I see the splash screen for a couple of seconds, then it disapears and nothing else happens. Uninstall re-install doesnt fix anything. With or without being logged to EA-app it changes nothing (game doesn't show up in the EA-app by the way). I checked files integrity in Steam and didn't get an error message.

How often does the bug occur? Every time (100%)

Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Maybe with a similar config... Intel i9 9900 RTX 3080 32 Gb of ram. The game still launches on my steamdeck but I want to play it in VR on my motion rig.

What happens when the bug occurs? Game loading stops after displaying the splashscreen for a couple of seconds.

What do you expect to see? The game to actually launches, at least in 2D, and then possibly I can finally try it in VR.
