H2 RWD, Lose drive out of 1st gear turn

Product: EA SPORTS™ WRC
Platform:Steam-PC
Summarize your bug Driving a Ford Escort MK2 in Rally Scandinavia. When exiting a first gear corner I lose drive like the clutch is depressed.
How often does the bug occur? Often (50% - 99%)
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Driving an H2 RWD in Rally Scandinavia in Autumn (snow) in the Career mode (it was an invitational). I bought the Ford Escort MK2. In my first attempt at the shakedown the bug didn't happen. I made some setup changes (reduce the diff preload and accel %). Then I was losing drive out of the first square left nearly every time. One time I also lost drive after coming to a stop later in the shakedown, so it doesn't appear to be strictly attached to the turn, but something I do there. I tried increasing the diff back to higher values to see if that was the problem but it did not fix the issue. I think I am probably using the hand brake for the square left turn. I have sequential gears, clutch override (I am not using the clutch override when the bug occurs), and no other assists on.
What happens when the bug occurs? I lose drive. It's like I have the clutched depressed and the engine just revs. I can go through all the gears and have no drive. Coming to a complete stop usually fixes the problem and I can accelerate.
What do you expect to see? I expect to be able to accelerate like the clutch is not depressed and engaged.

Driving a Ford Escort MK2 in
Rally Scandinavia. In the shakedown for Ljosdalstjonn there is a square left turn near the beginning. Most of the time when I try to accelerate out of the square left I completely lose drive. It's like the clutch is stuck depressed (disengaged). In order to fix it I have to come to a complete stop then I can drive away.

  • I noticed this issue on the M3 in Japan Club event, but thought that it was just because one tire was skidding due to a lowered accel differential. I'll examine more.

  • Testing this more on Time Trials, it seems to behave as one would expect. Low diff settings slip at tight turns, higher settings do not. MK2 on Ljosdalstjonn though struggles to get enough weight shift to make the differential slip due to low traction, even at the lowest diff settings.

  • I believe the bug is related to the hand brake.  I did another event in the Ford Escort MK2 at rally Iberia (100% tarmac, light rain).  I found that almost any time I used the hand brake I got the bug and had to come to a complete stop to get drive again.  Most of the time I am not using the hand brake, but if I brake late I sometimes pull it to get some rotation on entry.  Doing so usually resulted in losing drive until I came to a complete stop.
