i run a moment and set a good time and the game says oh its failed to connect and your stuck on the screen hitting retry forever because it never reconnects, or you hit cancel and it just boots you b...

Have this aswell. Incredible annoying to drive one of those multistage challenges and use your evening to complete one -> this error pops up and it was all for nothing. Just makes me not want to ever play this game again.
Quit the current moment, and restart it from the Main Menu/Moments screen. You won't lose your progress and this eliminates the bug until EA get's off their *.
Trust me,
This has worked for me every time and i've got almost 300 golds, not a brag, but it's because i was able to restart and Complete stages.
