I had this issue within the first 2-3 days of owning this game (I pre-ordered the game so before official launch date) then it stopped working, exactly as you described, doesn't recognize shifter. I powered cycled, by unplugging from G923 Logitech Steering wheel, I re-calibrated the steering wheel which covers both the wheel and pedals but not the shifter; and nothing worked.
I then uninstalled the game and re-installed it and it started working again, but had issues binding the gears within the game settings, but eventually after many attempts, it finally worked.
Now, about one week ago, again stopped working. I have deleted the game, as that really upsets me that I would have to keep doing that.
Please fix this issue, I can't play the game unless I set the in-game settings to "automatic" transmission, who the hell wants to do that?
Also, and I don't know if this has affected anyone else, but just to make sure the shifter was not working, I launched and played Dirt Rally 2.0, and the shifter works BUT!!! All my previous saved settings for each car and even each rally (map) got messed up. The settings all look correct, but my car is bouncing off walls, the wheel feels far less sensitive than before. I try and re-calibrate within Dirt Rally 2.0 settings, but doesn't change anything.
So, not only has EA WRC messed up my force shifter from not working, but messed up somehow the settings calibration for my steering wheel and pedals, but at least my shifter works!
Come on, please fix your issues.
