What do you expect to see? AI using tyres accordingly to stage lengths of the loop
I prefer to play alone against AI times. Clubs and time trial are of zero interest to me personally.
I learned to work around the half-baked career by instead creating quick play championships, normally running 12 stages/location and was having fun until i noticed some patterns that totally deters me from even try to enjoy this game at the moment.
#1 - AI is very inconsistent (Bonus complaint)
Yes, its hard to get AI times to be perfect for every player, taking into account different driving styles and preferred locations. But they are super slow in some places (CER comes to mind). And can perform superhuman times at other locations (1 stage in Kenya).
#2 - AI use no tyre strategy what so ever, inconsistent tyre wear
On any given loop of stages, you will have AI randomly select between the available compounds. Regardless of the length of the stages until next service. Queue up 4x 23km on CER. And some AI will choose the soft compund, totally demolishing them halfway thru the second stage and then be super slow, and then that very same AI will choose the hard tyre on the next loop, that might be just a mere 23 km total over 4 stages. There is no code that does any simple math to check the upcoming stage lengths per loop and then choose tyre accordingly. The AI tyre wear is also all over the place, sometimes my tires are dead way before the AI, and sometimes it's the other way around.
#3 - It seems the AI cannot count tires
This might be a one off, or a bug in the tyre display in "running order". But I have had AI using more tyres than available, its like they get a fresh set at each service (randomly weighted 50/50 soft/hard?)
I tried this by running shakedown, and seeing the AI tyres being yellow after shakedown. Then after shakedown, I check the "running order" and there I see all green tyres for everyone. Meaning a tyre change is done after shakedown. That meant everyone was a tyre short, and had to use one tyre for 2 loops. But then at the last service, again, looking at "running order" the tyres were all green again. Now this can just be a bug with the display in "running order". But overall, I feel that the whole tyre system in regards to the AI is broken. And now that I have noticed this, I have a hard time enjoying this game, because this keeps annoying me.
