I got a 10 minute abandon penalty and -40 RP for Apex’s server crashing

Playing a ranked match just now. I got killed and I’m spectating my teammate who is about to craft me then he all of a sudden freezes and it says server timeout. My game brought me back to main menu and I thought I could rejoin but nope it wouldn’t let me because it said the game ended when I know for a fact he wasn’t dead and the game wasn’t over. So then I see I am classified as abandoning that match when I never selected any option to do so and that it was apex’s servers fault not mine. Now I have to suffer the penalties and can’t get the time nor RP back.
