Can't play Single Player Campaign (Connection Lost?)

I'm able to play multiplayer, but I can't continue my single player campaign. I'm getting a "Connection Lost" error everytime I try to play.
Who thought it would be a good idea to lock the single player campaign behind an EA server connection?
