EA patch auto completed my challenge but locked me out from my weapon

The EA patch from last week auto completed my Rapid Fire 2 challenge, but it DID NOT unlock the weapon (NVO-228E assault rifle). Now I am locked out from obtaining it. It's insulting as I was tracking that challenge and was almost complete with the higher requirements, then they release the patch, lower requirements, and now I am locked out from that weapon. 

I am on a PC and installed the new patch released yesterday which did not fix the issue, as well as repaired the game via Steam. I have  fully rebooted my PC, steam, and the game over 50 times, played 100+ additional matches (I have tried almost every map and every mode), recompleted all the objectives for Rapid Fire 2 (just in case), and completed Rapid Fire 3. I'm still locked out from the NVO-228E. There are all kinds of reports of this issue on different forums, I can’t believe EA hasn’t fixed this issue yet.
