Matchmaking Occasionally Fails to Load Player Into Game or Post-Match

Occasionally, when starting a match, the game fails to load me (and sometimes other players) into the match. The game begins for the rest of the lobby, but I remain stuck in the lobby screen as if the match never started. This issue also occurs after a match has ended — when transitioning to the next game from the post-match leaderboard, some players (including myself) remain on the leaderboard screen while others successfully load into the next match.

Steps to Reproduce:

  • Join a lobby and ready up for matchmaking.
  • Wait for the match to begin.
  • Observe that the match starts for some players while others remain stuck in the lobby.
  • After the match ends, stay through the post-match leaderboard screen.
  • When the next game starts automatically, observe that some players fail to load into the new match and remain stuck on the leaderboard.

Expected Result:
All players in the lobby or post-match session should load into the next match simultaneously without being left behind.

Actual Result:

  • At the start of a match: One or more players remain in the lobby while the match begins for others.
  • After a match: Some players remain stuck on the leaderboard screen while others proceed to the next game.

Additional Notes:

  • The issue occurs randomly and does not affect every match.
  • Multiple players in the same lobby have reported experiencing the same problem.

EDIT/SOLUTION:

The problem was caused by NAT type in the router being set to "Strict". Switching it to "Moderate" fixed the issue completely—no more getting stuck in lobbies or leaderboards. Thanks RADA0X for the solution

We've been getting this problem a lot, we got it relentlessly throughout the beta and it's carried over into the launch.

I've found using a VPN helps but you will get random 1:86001 errors. I guess pick your poison.

I had the same issue call your internet provider and tell them to change your NAT type from strict to moderate that fixed it for me

Thanks man, you're a legend! I went into my router's NAT config, switched from NAT4 (the default) to NAT2, and it looks like that solved it.
