Ideas
At this point there’s a clear pattern:
• Stutters tied to keyboard state-changing inputs (movement, weapon swap, gadgets).
• Mouse input itself is fine until a keypress blocks the main thread.
• FPS/GPU look normal, which makes it hard to diagnose at first.
Multiple workarounds have already been tested by the community:
• Closing RTSS / Afterburner
• Disabling Discord overlay
• Going offline on Steam / EA App friends
• Launching via EAAntiCheat.GameServiceLauncher
• The well-known “press 7–8 keys on launch” trick
These reduce the issue for some users, but they don’t fix the root cause. Especially in modes like Battle Royale, where constant input switching makes the stutter much more noticeable and disruptive.
This really points toward EA / Javelin anti-cheat input validation interacting badly with Frostbite, not a hardware, driver, or peripheral issue.
We shouldn’t have to rely on launch rituals or disabling background tools to get smooth input. This needs an official acknowledgement and fix.
