Some glaring issues I've found with the game. Visual bugs.

Visual Bugs
- Sometimes, when spamming the scoreboard at the same time as holding the give up button, you can get stuck in an endless loop where the beep at the end keeps droning. You can't be revived, and the pain doesn't end in this state, so you have to use the redeploy button.

- Speaking of states, in Manhattan Bridge maps, I've had a match somehow glow like a Christmas tree. Imgur link https://imgur.com/a/1qqnWtO. Last I checked, my video card health was fine. Not shown, but some of the rooms were so bright that you couldn't see anything, and my monitor was pure white. Sometimes, the walls even began twinkling like Christmas lights, ironically enough. This happened once on the map, but to a much lesser degree, and also happened once in Cairo. The streets and walls of the city also had some minor glare and a purple tint. It seemed random each time it happened; different areas had different glares and colours. I don’t know what's happening, but I think the game might be miscalculating reflection values. While it is beautiful, it's game-breaking.

- In the Cairo maps, some of the trees glitch out. It looks like their verts are being called into random spots on the map and dragged around, leaving massive black streaks across the roads and blocking opponents' view. When you get to a nearby distance, it returns to normal, so I think it might be LOD-related. The biggest offender is the one in the small-scale cair TDM and SDM map, in that lane with the bus beside the spawn, which blocks the whole view. I think there's another one in the large-scale version of Cairo, on one of the ends of the central capture point.

- Sometimes, when switching classes after a death mid-combat, it can result in being stuck in the menu until you repress the loadout button and exit; otherwise, you're stuck being a limp dead body in the battlefield with no UI, preventing you from respawning.

- When playing as support, sometimes teammates and squadmates revive me; icons don't show up until they either ask for a revive or you're right in front of them. It gets confusing whether or not they're dying, and you need to help them, or are already dead.

Performance Issues

- All the large-scale maps crash the game randomly, whether Conquest, Breakthrough or Escalation. Small-scale versions of maps are unaffected; the REDSEC map is also unaffected, regardless of BR or Gauntlet. I tried looking for crash logs, but it never creates them. It's the least severe on Blackwell fields.
This is the biggest issue. 95% of my large- and medium-scale matches crash halfway through or later. I'm not exaggerating in the slightest. It happens ALMOST EVERY SINGLE TIME. I can't rejoin, and it's incredibly frustrating to be limited to REDSEC and TDM for longer sessions.

- During large-scale matches, there is also severe player lag, despite a high ping. This doesn't apply during Breakthrough, but only on Conquest or Escalation.

- Also, during these matches on death, bodies begin glitching out. I've seen bodies seize and clip through ceilings and floors—GMod rocket-legs style ragdoll physics.

- And only in these matches, sometimes when you die yourself, the camera glitches out and begins rotating to the floor. At the same time, it looks like your body siezes and almost floats to heaven before splatting on the ground, and your soul returns to your dying body.

- Moderate-High levels of lag on Eastwood, on large-scale modes, especially at the central building with the 2-3 capture points.

Gameplay bugs

  • - Sometimes going prone on some slopes launches you into the air. I don't know the specifics; I haven't tested it, but it's happened twice unintentionally.

    - When spawning in REDSEC, I was once launched into the air when repelling from the helicopter rope at the start of a gauntlet match for no discernible reason.

    - Sometimes, when reviving squadmates by dragging, the revive stops for seemingly no reason. I know that it stops if you pull them off an edge to somewhere safer, but I've had so many teammates revive me only to awkwardly stop halfway through on flat floors and pick me back up again, even when no enemy footsteps can be heard.
  • -I also spawned into a breakthrough match. After customizing my gun and deploying, I was stuck in the deploy menu in the world. I tried holding space to continue, but it wasn't working. I got sniped from behind, and redeploying fixed it. It's happened in several other games as well.

    - Revives are also blocked in small bushes and shrubs when using the defib. Forcing drag revives to get them out and paddle there.
  •
  • -  When a controller is plugged in, and input is detected, sometimes in the first match on launch, no matter the game mode, the mouse glitches out, and it forces me to look up, no matter which way I move it, and it's jittery. I want to say it's a gimbal lock, but IDK. I don't zen or anything, I use my controllers for the headphone slot. When this happens, it forces me to switch to the controller, at least until I die once or twice. Then it corrects itself, and I can use mouse movement normally again.

    - I'm not sure if this is actually a bug, but the respawn beacon only seems to last a few spawns before it's destroyed.
    and finally, some QOL suggestions

    - Pings should be louder and more attention-grabbing. As they stand, they are way too quiet and easy to ignore. I've had so many times where pings were either ignored or not acknowledged. And I've missed so many that it's hard to tell whether a squad leader is trying to get us to attack an objective or if there's a ping marker at some random spot. For the most part, I've only used it on death to warn teammates nearby and set a marker to revenge kill snipers.

    - Adrenaline needs a buff; I don't understand it, and the higher sprint speed doesn't seem to affect that much mid-combat. While, in theory, it should be able to blitz opponents or make faster getaways, it's too small a bonus, regardless of kills. I think it should instead offer significantly faster reload, melee, and sprint speeds, at the cost of handling and recoil. And/or we should still be able to fire our gun while using it. I saw someone on Reddit suggest that we should at least be able to hipfire without being able to ADS while pumping adrenaline.

    - Separate TDM and SDM the same way Breakthrough and Conquest are, but they also have the all-out warfare option. I don't want to have to cue into SDM just to play TDM, and I don't want to touch Portal if I don't have to. I don't like SDM, I find it very unfun, mostly because I want to sweat hard in that mode, and it's hard to do well without being cued up with a team you synergise with.

    - SDM shouldn't allow you to deploy mid-combat. Feel free to change my mind on this one. I don't like SDM because the other 3 teams can spawn trap your team for being impatient. In a casual setting like SDM, it's too easy to want to spam the respawn button and spawn right in front of someone else's scope. I've also heard other players complain about getting free kills this way.

    - More subclasses. Like a lot more. I know these are likely already on their way. What I just described sounds like a berserker subclass, too. I think the diversity of the gameplay can have a big impact, too. I'm not saying we need perks, but the Apex perk system is a great example of how to diversify gameplay, while still keeping the core kit of a class. I appreciate that Battlefield is staying true to its identity, and I'd be excited to see more stuff like the frontliner's insanely high regen buff and the other support subclass being able to give faster rockets and grenades than the medic.

    - This last one would be much harder to implement. I also don't know whether some form of this is already implemented, because people don't talk about it much. I think what would shine brightest is an enhancement to matchmaking that puts you on a team with similar playstyles. IE, people who like to blitz other teams get matched together via stat tracking. Like comparing time spent crouched and prone to time spent running around, and also comparing that to classes and loadouts, average damage output, grenade spam, gadget usage, etc. Like track everything a player does from spawn to death, and put it into an algorithm and predict their playstyle. Players who play more rounded playstyles are placed on more diverse teams. Campers and rats are put on the same team as the match's "villains" (not encouraging harassment, just saying like-minded people should be together). A squad of snipers is getting put together more often. It could also be a tool to rebalance teams alongside MMR. Like if someone crashes or quits, instead of being put into a purely random squad, you get put into a squad of like-minded individuals. I imagine this would be a lot of work, but it would give the game a personality that you would never expect from any other multiplayer game. And if you like the old rules, give them an option to turn them off.

If I discover anything else while playing, I may update the thread. But for now this is all I have.

    Adios.

PS. I copy pasted this from my steam discussion and it butchered my formatting.

  • - Screenshots take forever using the Steam screenshot button, and only work every few presses for some reason.

    - Also, when using thermal scopes, the flames from incendiary grenades are somehow behind the water on the Manhattan Bridge, making it possible to see through the fire and see enemies behind it.

  • - Sometimes, after resupplying a drone from a supply bag, it doesn't deploy, forcing you to reselect the gadget after equipping something else, then it deploys correctly.

  • As I'm sure other users have pointed out, the engineer challenge of repairing over 2000 vehicle health is bugged and not awarding the proper challenge points regardless of vehicle.

Edit: It does award points sometimes; I think it might be tied to the start of the weekly challenges. I just completed a bunch today, and it's the start of the week. All the weekly vehicle health challenges activated, and started counting the asignments too.

  • Whenever repairing a tank, sometimes the visual indicator bugs out and gets stuck at the second-to-last bar and never fully heals. This unintentionally makes it easy to farm xp.

  • Sometimes, I've noticed random spots with a glowing red spot that looks like a rocket-launcher glare, as in the picture below. IDK if it's attached to something else and whether or not the game places it in the world by mistake. Don't know what causes it for sure.

  • Sometimes the voice line to thank another player for a revive doesn't play.

  • Just ran into this at the start of a Cairo match, thought I was in the other egypt map for a second. Everything just slowly loaded in.

  • Leavin a match immeadiately after loading in results in the game freezing into a black screen.
