Ranked mode needs to be 25-50% races. It’s the 5 lap format that encourages and rewards the dirty and impatient driving. It’s nothing more than a mad-dash sprint to the flag pushing everyone out the way. That’s not racing and it’s not F1. It’s Mario Kart without the shells.
There is little incentive for patience and waiting for a clean passing opportunity when you’ve only got 5 laps to pass everyone. So the short format encourages divebombing and mayhem.
If you get spun on lap 1, or suffer front wing damage, there isn’t enough laps remaining to pit for repair and make your way back up the order, so again, the short format encourages rage quitting and a lobby of 10 drivers turns into 3-4 racing at the end.
Ranked mode should be for the competitive players. It’s nothing more should require skill, strategy, race craft, car management and consistency.
Bring back “sprint mode” if you want somewhere for kids to smash their way around short 5 lap attention deficit demolition derbies
