Severe lag in pedals and gear shifting

I'm testing a setup on a PC, the Simucube steering wheel is working fine but the other key controls (pedals and gear shift) which are from different manufacturers are very laggy, to the point that the car is completely undriveable. I see that there are a number of bugs raised that seem to also be discussing lags in response to control inputs, however I have observed the following Report Code which may be of use in understanding these issues: CXCG-BCXM-VLHL-LJCG.
