Strong FPS drop when playing on the steering wheel

I am having the same problem with an asetek Invicta. My game drops from 300+fps to 99-105fps and stays there. The gpu utilisation goes down to 20-30% of usage, I think this is a very big problem/bug, and it should be fixed asap. Since it is destroying our game experience.
