The team is investigating a stability issue impacting Career Mode saves that were manually or auto-saved from April 16 9:00 AM UTC to April 22 6:54 PM UTC. This includes saves that were created before this window of time, but were saved during this time period.
This issue was caused by a Squad Update that has since been rolled back, and these saves will experience stability issues if loaded while we work towards addressing them.
Career Mode saves that were created and saved before or after April 16 - April 22 continue to function as usual.
We’ll provide an update on our investigation when available, and you can follow this issue directly on our EASFC Tracker.
So when you guys update the game and find a solution, will we be able to continue playing the broken save?

no mate "stability issue impacting Career Mode" is the same today if i start a new one
I am experiencing exactly the same issue with new careers started after April 22. This means that there is no such thing as career mode saves created after April 22 continuing to function as usual. Please resolve the issue, career mode is completely dysfunctional right now.

I have a career mode that is doing this but I created it only a few days ago.
I had the issue where when pressing advance the game was crashing when trying to advance. One thing I did find is that I had 10+ transfers that I had delegated to my assistant and the game was crashing when trying to advance after delegating this. I then reloaded the game and I stopped delegating to the assistant and negotiated these myself. Upon doing this I was able to advance. I then let my notifications build up a lot and then I got a crash again. I cleared my inbox and viewed the scout reports, etc... and then advanced and it worked fine again for a bit. However, I now don't have any pending transfers or notifications but the game wont let me advance again, I have tried EVERYTHING and I cannot get it to advance.
Not sure if this could be a memory issue maybe as it seems to be something to do with the number of processes running but maybe its just coincidental that it looks this way.
Hope that helps and really hope this can be sorted ASAP because I only play career mode so I have essentially wasted my money otherwise.
