Game paused but all menu options missing

Playing in a Ultimate team match (verses AI) on PS5 and paused the game only for no menu to appear. Assuming I will now lose, having to shut the game down, losing points and higher level + rewards. 

Also encountering most glitches being posted recently. Is this an update issue?
