Live trainer restrictions still apply

Playing a challenge in live trainer and after the first season and having completed the challenges needed, aswell as choosing to get rid of the restricions on the save, it won't let me bypass it and let me sign new players. Did sign a player i had on loan the first season so should work but doesn't when i try the normal way.
