Opponent gaining win through inactivity glitch

My opponent just got a win via utilising a glitch. I was winning the game and my opponent ended up passing it around the back from half way through the second half. He used all of his pauses and I ended up 6-0 up in the game. In the 90th minute he ran the ball off the pitch and an I got a message on my screen saying “you have been kicked for inactivity” despite me still pressing the ball all game trying to score more goals.

My opponent then messaged me through the XBOX with a winking face and said “thanks for the win” so he obviously was utilising a bug on purpose to get this win. I obviously denied the claims to him saying that i also got the win despite this not being true (please find photo attached) I have never seen this bug before and wondered if anyone had encountered anything similar? I have also reported my opponent for cheating via abusing a bug in game.
