PC Performance Issue – 99% GPU Usage with 11–15 FPS (RTX 3050 Laptop)

platform: PC (Steam)
I’m experiencing a severe performance issue with EA Sports FC on PC, making the game almost unplayable.
PROBLEM DESCRIPTION
- GPU usage spikes to 99%
- FPS drops to around 11–15 FPS
- Happens in matches, menus, and sometimes kick-off
- CPU usage remains normal
- Temperatures are normal (no thermal throttling)
- Issue is persistent every session

Laptop: ASUS TUF Gaming A15 (FA506NCR)
CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 7435HS (3.10 GHz)
GPU: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3050 Laptop GPU (4 GB VRAM)
RAM: 8 GB DDR5 (4800 MT/s)
Storage: 477 GB SSD (352 GB used)
OS: Windows 11 64-bit
Platform: PC (Xbox App / EA App)
TROUBLESHOOTING STEPS TRIED
Graphics & Display
- Low / Medium / High presets
- VSync ON / OFF
- Fullscreen and Borderless
- Resolution scaling
- FPS cap 60 / Uncapped
Game Configuration
- Forced DirectX 11
- Disabled Async Compute
- Disabled Shader Preload
- Adjusted texture streaming memory (2048 MB)
System & Drivers
- Clean NVIDIA driver install
- Shader cache reset
- Overlays disabled (Xbox Game Bar, GeForce)
- Verified game files
- Full reinstall
- Multiple system restarts
OBSERVATIONS
- Other games run normally
- No overheating
- No CPU bottleneck
- GPU clocks drop abnormally when FPS collapses
This does not appear to be a hardware issue. It looks like a render or frame pacing problem specific to EA Sports FC on PC.
Logs and DxDiag are available if needed.
