Players randomly stop sprinting and start shielding the ball

no one helped me in a month now, reposting this so maybe someone finally acknowledges this game-breaking issue...

Please someone help me with this issue, it happens in every online match multiple times, I cannot play the game. About 50% of the time when I'm sprinting with a player he randomly suddenly slows down and starts shielding the ball as if I pressed LT. You can see in the screenshot and in the clip that my inputs are registered fine - I'm pressing RT (sprint) only. This issue only happens in online matches. My controller is brand new and I'm playing on PC...

I've seen this issue reported a few times in the past but I couldn't find any fix. EA please help me fix this or refund my money as I cannot play matches like that.
