Game configuration failed/Failed to retrieve data

Since Sunday 27th October, loading into online games has stopped working. In WOC I constantly get the message "game configuration failed" whenever I am loading into a game no matter which club is used for the session. In other modes, such as versus, I get the message "failed to retrieve data" along with the error code whenever I load into a game. Every single method the web can offer has been tested and the only correlation I can think of is the system update that sony rolled out during Friday 25th October but I did manage to play a few games right after the system update. Nothing in my settings has been changed at all

The workaround has been to create both a new PSN and EA-account and it works as normal

Platform: PS5

When does the error occur: When loading into any online game

What game modes are affected: All online game modes

Network Settings: NAT Type 2 - 1000/1000 connection - Wired - Default DNS

    Unfortunately, the update didn't resolve this. Currently, the only thing you can do is play on a different account. We plan to fix this with the January update. I definitely know that's not what you all are hoping for, but the good news is that we've made progress on getting this fixed.

  • I’ve been getting configuration failed since last month and after the update still can’t get in a match on WOC something needs to be done asap paid for this game just to get kicked everytime I try an find a match

    I have been having the same problem for a week now. I can’t play any online game mode.

    I have the same problem. I can play 2-3 WOC games before the problem appears. I have to restart the game to be able to play online again.

    I have had this same issue since yesterday the 13th. Tried every single troubleshooting method I could think of. No online mode will work at all, VS, EASHL, I even got dropped out of an offline be a pro game last night (but be a pro has worked since then).

    Same fix, If i go on my other account I can match just fine, no issues. (Different PSN Different EA Account) But I need my account to play in the 6's league im in.. I don't think it can be an issue of the club im in because none of this has even occured in the club, once i dropped twice I started testing it in online VS and 3's quickplay and no matter the mode I'm erroring out before the game starts.

    Hi there. Please send me a private message with your PSN ID as well as the name of your WoC club. We'll need to delete the club, unfortunately. That is the only current resolution we have for this.
