What MIssion/Challenge? No specific challenge

Problem: Occasionally when I log in, typically after reset in case that matters, and go to start a challenge (typically solo), no challenge stuff comes up, the HUD simply disappears. I can still skate around freely but I cannot access any menu. As far as I can tell, it can't even register any task completion either. Typically I can get around this by using Alt+F4 and booting up the game again. Hasn't happened twice in a row to me so far.
