Wrong Button mapping using Nintendo wired controller and Steam

essentially what it sounds like it is. My A and Y button inputs come from my RB and RT buttons, my X and B button inputs are coming from when I press my LB and LT buttons. The sticks work fine, start buttons aren't mapped, and I cant do trigger/ LB/ RB inputs no matter what button I press, please help, I just want to skate. I'm operating on Windows 11 if that helps
