I assume you had a few other unclaimed rewards. The UI updates the currency once all available rewards are claimed.
That would track with what I saw happen. However that does lead to an issue of the currency cap. Will the UI give the warning notification of going over the cap if it isn't displaying the correct amount when claiming multiple rewards?

Studio is working on this issue and will update the UI to update currency once it is claimed to avoid confusion.
