After the recent update of 8/8/24 I’ve had multiple problems with my game. I can’t access the Simology panel without it closing out several times, only the traits display, nothing else. I can’t save my game, access build/buy mode or CAS. Whenever I try to go into the options menu to restart my game, I can’t even get into the options menu- so I have to force quit the entire application. I’ve updated my MODS, taken them out (completely), repaired my game via the EA Play App, and also wiped my Sims 4 files and downloaded the entire game (and add-on’s) to a clean state and still run into these problems.

I play on PC, and I have keep having to force quit. I had to completely take my mods out just so the game could run. When the loading screen comes on, it stays there FOREVER, leaving me to force quit the game. This has been going on for quite a few days now of trying to play and it is not working.
Me too. I can't run the game with any mods installed. It opens to the main menu but pops up with tips for the love struck pack and won't let me close it off to start a game. It just loads and loads and I have to force quite. The new update hasn't fixed anything. It's super frustrating.
Right? At least I had a workaround with the Traveling to other locations error.
me too! i thought that the new update would help with this but it doesn’t seems like the main issues have been fixed
Now it doesn’t even show my moodlets and you can’t switch between Sims in the household. I’m really starting too lose my patience with the entire Sims franchise.
Now I'm hesitant to update again if this bug came back. Had this problem with the major 7/23/24 update couple weeks back. I went through all the mods that affect ui and extensions (Tmex, more cas columns, simvasion, etcs) and updated them to fix the problem. I can only suggest you check those mods that affect UI for updates.
I honestly think there's just something in the new update that conficts with a lot of cc. They are usually pretty timely with fixing these things.
They supposedly fixed the travelling to a lot with sims when an event is on
They certainly fixed it , now the prom notice it is starting doesn't even appear so my sims can no longer go to the prom . Also now if i send more than one sim to go to high school then only the first one gets the things to do like use the treadmill or study for exams where all my sims used to get the notice top left
I just recently updated my MacOS and I have similar problems. I do not have mods or custom code. My game is unplayable. I guess my students are happy because now I have time to grade.
It’s getting absolutely ridiculous every update it does this crap !!! I just got mine working from the last update !!
I'm also having similar problems with my game after the recent update. My sister is the one currently playing on my Windows laptop, which has all the requirements to run the game even with high graphic settings, and she told me that one of her YA sims would just stop whatever task she was doing and then she wouldn't be able to switch between sims in her household (2 YA Sims and 2 toddlers). This issue still persisted after she tried to debug/reset that sim. After she paused the game, it would finally let her switch to just one other sim, but she'd have to force quit the game anyways since it wouldn't let her do anything; it just freezed. I confirmed this today as it all happened when I was with her this time, being the third time it has happened over the last four days. It definitely doesn't look like a PC/laptop issue or mod issue, because I only had one mod installed (that I made sure was already updated), and this issue came up before and after completely deleting it.
I will try to repair the game via the EA app, which is where I play it, but I don't have much hope after searching online and reading these comments. I hope the Sims team can fix this quickly! :(

The original issue has been fixed a while ago which is why I'm locking this.
There's still mods that can cause issues so make sure to updated them or test without.
Please create a new thread If you still have this issue on a new vanilla save game
