[AA] [S] Sims dying from overheating/freezing in camp with correct clothing

I bought the new Adventure Awaits pack when it first came out. Ever since I started playing, I´ve been experiencing issues with my Sims kid´s dying.
I have created a Summer camp with adult and teen guardians, the campers only being kids.
At first the other kids all started dying because of overheating, even though they were wearing swim wear or hot weather wear. I fixed it by turning off weather affecting Sims in the settings, but I´ve never had that issue this persistantly.
After I fixed that, I got a popup of my Sim dying, that I was playing. There was absolutely no reason for him to die. Neither did he have any negative moodlets, nor were his needs even yellow. I exited without saving, but he kept dying everytime i tried. With it I got a popup of neglection, which doesn´t make sense, since he´s completely fine. This issue makes the game basically unplayable right now.

Note from EA_Solaire:

Hello all,

If any of you are still encountering this on the latest game version (without mods), would you be willing to share your save file(s)?

If so, please send me a private message with a link to the file. Instructions can be found here: https://forums.ea.com/idea/the-sims-4-bug-reports-en/information-how-to-send-user-files-to-the-sims-4-team/5048472

Thanks!

  • Happened to me on a new family in Gibbi Point. I would like to share my save but don't understant how to do.

  • Happened to me, overheating moodlet keep appearing even though it's chill / freezing. Change clothes to hot weather doesn't help and the moodlet keep occuring when you travel to another world / new lot.

This is happening to one specific teen in my household. He almost constantly has the over heating moodlet, but I keep removing it with ui cheats (I tested without mods, still happening). I just had him drink coffee and he almost died from burning to death! The current weather is warm, he’s wearing a football uniform (I’m guessing that counts as regular warmth/cooling clothes wise), the house does NOT have heat on and the other family members are fine

  • Just happened to me. I sent my sims on a bed and breakfast getaway for the summer and almost lost 3 sims on the 2nd day.  I immediately ended the getaway and sent everyone home. I saved and exited my game, so I'll share a copy of my save file.

  • After the Gibby Point update, Sims may experience constant overheating regardless of weather, clothing, or environment.
The issue is directly linked to the childhood experience perk "Comfortable with Danger".
When this perk is present, Sims overheat repeatedly. The effect persists across outfits, lots, and seasons. Cooling actions do not resolve the issue.
Removing the perk "Comfortable with Danger" from the Sim immediately stops the overheating behavior.
This strongly suggests that the perk applies an incorrect or permanent heat-related modifier after the Gibby Point update.
The issue is reproducible, occurs in multiple saves, and removing the perk consistently resolves the problem.

Could you please provide the following information

    -  Are you using mods/cc in your game ? Please remove them and test without them if you do.

I use CC, but this issue doesn’t cause me any inconvenience and I already know how to fix it. I just wanted to help other players who might be experiencing the same problem.

If you're making a bug report, it's important to provide all the info necessary and mod usage is important. You should always test on a vanilla game too as your might get dismissed and not looked at by Maxis.

  • I've been experiencing the same issue for weeks. I tried using the mccc mod to see if my sim had been flagged for death but she had no flags, and even playing the game without mods or cc my sim dies from overheating everytime I open the same save file. It's winter and freezing temps on my game and I can't even be fast enough to change her outfit or set the thermostat to a different temperature in game because she dies immediately.
