[AA] [S] Sims dying from overheating/freezing in camp with correct clothing

I bought the new Adventure Awaits pack when it first came out. Ever since I started playing, I´ve been experiencing issues with my Sims kid´s dying.
I have created a Summer camp with adult and teen guardians, the campers only being kids.
At first the other kids all started dying because of overheating, even though they were wearing swim wear or hot weather wear. I fixed it by turning off weather affecting Sims in the settings, but I´ve never had that issue this persistantly.
After I fixed that, I got a popup of my Sim dying, that I was playing. There was absolutely no reason for him to die. Neither did he have any negative moodlets, nor were his needs even yellow. I exited without saving, but he kept dying everytime i tried. With it I got a popup of neglection, which doesn´t make sense, since he´s completely fine. This issue makes the game basically unplayable right now.

Note from EA_Solaire:

Hello all,

If any of you are still encountering this on the latest game version (without mods), would you be willing to share your save file(s)?

If so, please send me a private message with a link to the file. Instructions can be found here: https://forums.ea.com/idea/the-sims-4-bug-reports-en/information-how-to-send-user-files-to-the-sims-4-team/5048472

Thanks!

The only way I got my sim back alive was with the wishing well from the romantic garden stuff pack. Otherwise, would have done the much lengthier ways. Oh and she just died like an hour later. My game isn't even playable which sucks. I've never had a pack this bugged. I'm so glad I started a new save for this and didn't screw up my legacy save!

  • Same here. I removed all my mods and restarted the game, but it happened again — they just died no matter what I did. I couldn’t bring them back to life, not with magic or MCCC. It’s impossible.

I even tried restarting the game without saving, but my Sims were still dead when I loaded back in. Everything feels really buggy.

Please, can someone explain what’s going on or what I should do? I just bought the new DLC and was so excited to play it. Don’t let me down, EA.

I did have cc. I uninstalled them all and I still have the same issue.

  • I’m having the exact same issue as OP. I am a vanilla PC player so I do not play with any mods or CC. I sent my Sims kid to the premade summer camp getaway and within 20 minutes, the camp director and 2 children died from heat stroke when they were in bathing suits and the weather was mild outside - not even hot. I quit without saving then rebooted and tried to send an adult Sim from a different family to the premade fitness getaway. Within a few minutes of my Sim being there, the fitness instructor froze to death indoors - it wasn’t even winter or cold out! When I got the freezing warning, I tried to change her outfit to cold weather, but the same workout outfit she was wearing populated for every outfit category, so that didn’t work. I was so excited for the getaways but so far 2/2 getaway failures which led to wrongful weather-related deaths. None of the Sims were neglected - all had high needs. I hope this glitch gets resolved so I can enjoy the main feature of this EP!

  • Sims keep dying at my getaway, specifically from overheating. They are dying inside with the air conditioning on, in their hot weather clothes, and when it is cool weather outside. I've restarted my game, restarted getaways, and I don't have any mods. I've had about 20 sims die in this exact scenario. I've tried everything to make it stop.

  • After installing Adventures Awaits, my adult Sim died from overheating. She was at the Gibby-Gibby Children's Camp. She had a cold and was drinking green tea. I saw the red "Overheated from Abnormal Heat" moodlet. But it was autumn and cool with partly cloudy weather. I changed my Sim into summer clothes. She walked outside from the cafeteria and died. The family tree lists the cause of death as heat.
