Actions Frequently Dropping From Queue

After the September update I noticed an increase in actions dropping from my sims queue.

I set an action and my sim might start to follow through then it disappears and they just stand there.

If I set multiple actions for a sim, then go to another household member the actions from the first sim frequently disappear too. A lot of the time these actions seem to be related to socialising or infant care but not exclusive to.

Actions I set can also be ignored while a sim performs their own action and there is no way to cancel it or even know what they are intending to do until they do it.

I use minimal mods but always remove them completely from my game before updating and repair my game after. I also open a new save while waiting for my mods to be cleared and test to how things are running. The issue I've reported here happened in a vanilla save and are still happening now I've returned my mods to the game.

I've tested in a fresh vanilla save and in a played save.

Same for me, along with many other issues. Sims with ques waiting and they just stand still.  If i go from build mode to live mode I cant click on anything anymore (click on fireplace and it acts as if there is no fireplace there) this update even deleted my saved files that i moved to desktop.

yup!! then I’m forced to forced to exit to the menu and come back. It’ll help with the issue but it’s only temporary (ps5)

Same for me on PC, no CC. I'm playing a multi-member household with no infants while the upgrade issue is fixed.

The dropped actions is particularly annoying when playing with a household because now I'm juggling actions for 4 Sims.

I’m experiencing the same issue with my Sims, both before and after the September 26, 2022 update. Very often, one of my Sims cancels an action I’ve queued up to perform another one that doesn't appear in the queue—I only notice it once they actually start doing it. Frequently, actions get cancelled and my Sim switches to something else—like playing with the dollhouse outside in the middle of winter instead of taking a shower or eating, as originally instructed! I play without any mods or custom content.

Hi! Sometimes the question just drops off and then sometimes it stays with the X through it. Or the que stays at the top and the Sim stops moving for atleast a minute. Thank you for any help!!

It's neither of these. I think it is mainly social interactions actually being dropped, but also just object actions being ignored when qued. It's like the first social interaction qued will "x" out and drop when you put in another social que. It's hard to tell if that first interaction is actually played out. I think the interaction is being shortened and not fully completed so that the next qued action can be completed. It seems like once you que multiple actions, more than 2, the conversation will keep going and only drop the first social interaction que. This seemed more evident with multiple sims joining in a conversation or trying the played sim trying to talk to multiple people or it may be when more than 1 sim don't know each other in a group setting. The played sim will just talk to 1 person at a time and drop qued interactions. As far as object interactions qued by the player, I've noticed qued actions being ignored more than usual. A lot of excessive autonomy actions have appeared which were successfully dialed back before, i.e. tea brewer, yoga mat. I'm still trying to play in order to get a full picture of what's going on.

Just checked the other report and I agree it is part of what I am experiencing but not the only issue. For me it isn't just socialising, any action I set is often dropped or ignored - sometimes when I queue up actions, other times it can be one action that the sim refuses to do. It doesn't seem to drop and engage.

It is particularly bad when dealing with babies, infants and toddlers. Before this patch infant care was working beautifully but it's part of the problem I am experiencing now - but not exclusively.

I will play a bit more too and see if I can pin point a pattern. Thank you for looking into this so thoroughly.

I found a suggestion online to delete the Resource.cfg file from my mods folder and let the game generate a new one. My game seems to be running a lot better. Sims still drop the occasional action but autonomy in general is so much better, especially baby care - my sim had triplets and caring for them has been relatively easy.

I checked the other reports you suggested and what I was experiencing was closest to 'Sims stopping/cancelling out their actions to do other things.' This is still happening, especially when the babies cry but at least my sim instantly fixes their needs and if I cancel the action she will stop.

I will test some more tomorrow but I am pretty happy with the improvement.  Thank you so much for your continued help.

    They fully drop for me.

There are other issues since the latest update too.

    1. Cannot upgrade any type of item even with a surplus of upgrade parts in Sim's inventory.
    2. Cannot create family recipes.
