Finally got around to posting in this thread - I am a modder and noticed a high level of inappropriate mean interactions (and autonomous fighting) after the Adventure Awaits base game update. I dug into the coding to investigate why.
It appears that a number of tests on sim autonomy are pack-locked to Adventure Awaits, and if someone doesn't have the pack they trigger autonomously. This includes many mean socials and interactions. Autonomous fighting was partially fixed in a new update, but the larger issue with mean interactions remains because there's a specific testset intended to check and see if someone is on a getaway where the interaction is encouraged and - when the player does not own AA - the test automatically passes.
I was able to fix this bug in my own game by taking the Adventure Awaits testsets and flagging them as base game. I don't own AA myself, and this has fixed it.
The mod I made for this is available as "Flirting and Mischief Autonomy Fixes" and you can find it on Itch.io and on Nexus. The modfix also includes the mean interactions, despite the name. The game is pretty much not playable without this fix (unless you own AA, disable autonomous mean socials with MCCC, or turn autonomy off, pretty much.)

EA_Solaire Hi, I started a new scenario yesterday and didn't notice that my settings in ea app had been blanked. This meant my sims game started with lovestruck enabled. I hate that pack as it always kills off my sims with a broken heart. Anyway while I had this pack enabled my sims couldn't have a pleasant conversation, they were continually rude to each other and building a relationship was impossible, and this is in a micro home where relationships are supposed to be easier. The next thing I did was to disable lovestruck and hey presto no more mean interactions. I didn't video this but could start over and video if you like. I do use some mods mccc, uicheats and the unmentionable one.

Hi my sims are being mean for no reason. They have no bad sentiments and are in a good mood and still will insult and yell at each other. It doesn’t matter what family. They’re always mean to each other. Also my mods are up to date and I’ve turned off autonomy and they still continue.

As I use mods my save is useless to you, but I can describe the situation. For me it's not the mean actions in general that are the problem, it's the mischief actions, with the sole exception of the fight interaction which also happens autonomously and without reason. For me those two issues, autonomous and excessive mischief, and autonomous fighting started to happen at the same time. The fight-interaction is now also always available to choose, whether the sims are angry at each other or not.
A few examples:
- Guy calls his girlfriend and asks her to come over. She does, comes inside and start fighting - there had been no prior interaction between the two, there are no resentful feelings between the two and she does not have any trait that would explain her behavior.
- A guy is grieving, he complains about it to his girlfriend, she buzzes him with the hand buzzer then starts a fight. The two hate each other after this.
- A party, two relatives get into a fight without reason. There had been no mean interactions between them prior to this, nor were any of them angry.

The "I cry if I want to" moodlet comes from a permissive family dynamic, something which will make the child permanently angry around the parent. There is a bug-report about that here:

I just updated my game, so my mods were disabled. I made a mother and daughter and as soon as I moved them in the daughter laid into the mother. She got the "I'll cry if I won't to moodlet. Her trait are lovebug flirty and outgoing. It's a bit much, when you have sims that haven't even talked to each other just getting into fights.

No mod, no cc, base game
she just came to the party, he fight...
They use romantic and mean actions autonomously; even a faithful Sim flirts with other Sims besides her spouse.
