I do not know if this is a bug or an intended feature, but if it is the latter it renders all food-focused businesses in the newest pack completely unviable.

Are you sure? I opened up a GTW retail to quickly test it and Im selling my excellent quality cakes for a few hundred simoleons like I used to. Really hope they fix the way customers are buying food in BH soon though.
It's not every dish that happened in my bakery. I opened up my spreadsheet to find an example, and doughnut holes (1) sold for $7 each, while a plate with (4) sold for $6 :/ all excellent as well
