Hello everyone! I also discovered this problem today when I decided to start a new save and give all the premade Sims a makeover. When I got to Brindleton Bay, I found that the premade households had no pets. They still show up in the household thumbnails, but when you actually load them, the pets are gone. The same thing happens in Chestnut Ridge — all the horses are missing. At the same time, pets from the adoption pool are available.
At first I thought the problem was caused by mods, even though I only had MCCC, UI_Cheats_Extension, Tmex-BetterExceptions, and a name replacement mod installed. I removed them first, created a new save — didn’t help. I uninstalled and reinstalled the “Cats & Dogs” and “Horse Ranch” expansions — didn’t help. I completely cleaned the Sims 4 folder so the game would generate a fresh one — still nothing :(
Turns out this is a widespread problem after the latest update. I’m disappointed and really tired of these bugs. I just want to play calmly instead of wasting time troubleshooting. Am I right in thinking that if someone buys these packs right now, the premade families will be without pets? What a surprise!
Anyway, developers, please bring back Mayor Whiskers and Captain Whitaker! 🐱🐶
For now I’ll try to download all these families and characters from the Gallery...
