I just started a new save in preparation for the bug fixes coming in a few days and now I find that there is a bug which wasn't in my existing game and won't be fixed in the upcoming update...

No pets anywhere. Not in the households and not in manage households either.

Not only that, pet NPCs like Mayor Whiskers and Captain Whitaker in Brindleton Bay are gone. And you can't just add them to the world from the gallery because these two pets specifically wander around Brindleton Bay without a household.
