I have the same issue now. All pets and horses from premade households vanish in a new save file. You can see them in the portraits for a little bit but then they are completely gone without having done anything with the households. It's all worlds and I have no mods installed. Playing on pc. So far pets and horses stay in the household if I add them through the gallery into the game.
