I'm having the same problem, unfortunately. And it's not due to mods, because it also occurs when none are installed. I even reinstalled the game, but unfortunately, the pets are still gone. And I specifically wanted to create a new save file because of the new pack, so that all the family relationships would be there.
It's at the "Validating Fix" stage which means they are currently testing the fix? It's been way too long since this bug was introduced (again) and they just need to freaking finish validating it already.
I know right? They literally changed the entire labeling system to be more transparent (which they should have done once a fix affecting the core gameplay feature of two freakin' pasts was missing for more than a month or two tbh, but better late than never), and yet it's been weeks since they told us they were 'circling in' on a fix already. I know their priority has been on the latest pack and the issues the more recent patches have introduced, but that's exactly why I don't plan on buying the Royalty pack. Especially if they don't fix the packs I already own by May... 👀
