My cat in The Sims 4 keeps getting a different illness every day, even after receiving the “expensive treatment” at the vet. The treatment works and the cat is cured, but by the next in-game day, it comes down with a new illness. This creates a constant cycle of vet visits and bills, making pet ownership unrealistic and frustrating. I’ve tested this in a new save file with no mods or CC, and the pattern still continues.

Every time my sims adopt a dog or cat they get sick almost instantly. I’ll take them to the vet and they’ll get treated. However, the next day they get a brand new illness. Im sick of traveling back and forth to the vet every day!

Keep them away from the toilet bushes - I usually lock mine in the house or at least inside a fenced in yard, though one rags-to-riches I fenced in the bush instead of the dog.
If they’re still getting sick even without fighting squirrels in bushes, make sure your sim scolds them whenever they eat trash or drink out of a puddle.

There's one of the treats that heals the pets. Not sure if it works for all illnesses, but it fixed one.
Also, you can have the vet skill to make it or treat at home.
But it's one of the reasons I don't often play with pets. (that, and they ran away all the time) - billblogs2 months agoNew Adventurer
I don't play with pets anymore for that reason, they just get sick nearly every day, always have. But I did read somewhere that this new illness thing in back to nature seems to have made this worse so maybe after the next hotfix in a few days this will improve.
