[CHEATS] Skill Cheat Not Working To Lower Skill Level

despite multiple attempts and troubleshooting, Was this removed?

I use to use this religiously and I can’t get it to work for the life of me. 

The skill cheat (ie. stats.set_skill_level)  will not lower skill level.

My sim maxed their skill and when I attempted to use the skill cheat to lower their skill, it would not lower their skill. I am able to use the skill cheat to increase skill but not lower it.

I tried every variation of the skill cheat (properly typed) with the testingcheats cheat and no variation will lower skill levels.

I have also tried the 'solution' to go to manage worlds and swap households but it does not work. This is still a bug.

I play on Mac.

JonaO703​ here it is Sept 8, 2025 and I am currently playing Sims 4 on the PS4 and I can say the lowering the skills cheat still doesn't work. Unfortunately, my toddler maxed her movement skill before I could get the "Learn to Run" thanks to a glitch that was caused before I even started playing, now she won't get her milestone or show she maxed the movement skill! Very disheartening to see it's still happening with no fix in sight.

hi, same issue here, i bought the GT EP and PH so i can have a better gameplay, got frustrated while getting all infant milestones i could get (my sim parents wouldn't do anything else but putting me down and picking me up), after a few rl days i aged up my infant top-notch to find out i cannot reach milestones run, dance, max communication etc tho i am level 5 by now. still nothing. i hate using cheats other than build mode, never ever used any for gameplay (yep, not even motherload). so i checked everythere and found out the only solution is cheating my toddler skills down until this problem is fixed (whenever that will be), i accepted my fate, checked cheats for lowering toddler skills, only to find out those are not working anymore?!
