[CL] Can't play duets with household members

My households cannot do karaoke together at venues. When I say households I mean two people from the same household, regardless of relationship. I have tested with multiple households and here are my findings. I used at least three different households to test.

So two people living in the same house cannot go to Planet Honeypop or any other karaoke venue and sing duets together. I tested different venues because of old information I found on a previous problem having to do with festivals. As far as I can determine, my current problem has nothing to do with that as I have tested on festival days and non-festival days.

Spouse and his wife - partner does not show up as available for duet. Took two brothers who live together and whichever tries to do a duet the other does not show as available. Took another sim and his wife from another household and same issue.

Yet, I can take any one of them and click travel and select a friend or family member that does not live with them and go to the same venues and they can do karaoke duets just fine.

I put in a karaoke machine into their house and they are able to sing a duet together at home. BUT, I took them to their friend's house who has a karaoke machine and they cannot sing a duet there together either.

So the problem seems to be due to being in the same household. I loaded up older games, not saves, older games, and tested with sims who have nothing to do with my current game and the problem exists across the board.

The only mods I use are Mccc, littlemssam mods through Curseforge and one venue mod by Zerbu on Curseforge. I did run a game repair. So the only thing I have not done is remove mods to see if the issue still exists. Not sure why it would as I don't use anything crazy and I will go out of my mind without mods to stop autonomous flirting and my butler from making infinite piles of clean clothes. I don't use any mods to get items for the game or aspirations or stuff like that. any houses or sims I download come from the gallery. The only mod I think could possibly be affecting this in some way is the mod by Zerbu because it allowed me to change a special venue type and turn it into a residential rental so I could put in the Sulani Super Yacht. I just don't know what would happen if I remove that mod and then load the game. So I decided to come here and post first and see if anyone has any ideas. I had zero issues with this prior to the most recent game update and yes, I updated all available mod updates as well as Mccc.

I really need this problem resolved because the current game I am playing all of my sims are into music, art and karaoke together. So this problem just kills the whole game :(

I appreciate any ideas and I will remove all mods and test if I have to. Just hoping not to have to go through that mess. Thanks!

Oh, and I play on a PC. Own and running all packs and such. No game issues or slowness or anything.

Just to test to see if your mods/cc are causing the issue, try moving the whole mods folder to another place, delete the localthumbcache.package and then start a fresh new save game and test to see if the issue remains without mods/cc there. By starting a new save game, it won’t affect your other save games whilst you are testing.

I had already cleared the cache and started a new save game. But I did it all again after moving the mods folder. It did not work. The issue persists. I even started a whole new game with a brother and sister sim after doing all that. Got them to level 3 singing and good friends and then took them out to try and they can't see each other in the sim picker for duets. so I am sure if I tested further that they would be able to do a duet with anyone not in their household. Whatever the problem is, it is only affecting sims in the same household and was not a problem until this most recent update. I have never had anything major affect me like this so I am not sure what to do next. Should I post about this in a different part of the forum that would be more appropriate for getting help?

It would be good though for the future, if you could always test without mods/cc. Thanks.

Thank you and I will! I am new to the mods thing really and didn't know I could just move the mod folder out to test. I have always actually uninstalled them as the most of my mods are through curseforge. Mccc I get directly from its website. So I guess I was making the process a lot more difficult that it needed to be. So I learned something valuable in this for sure and won't be so hesitant to report an issue going forward. I appreciate you looking into this and hope I can play again soon.

Hi everyone,

I tested this in a vanilla game with all packs on PC and cannot duplicate it so far. I have sent a married couple from my save and the roommates Travis Scott and Summer Holiday to premade and self-built Karaoke bars. They were always available to sing the "Country" duo together.
Have you tried to repair the game after the patch?

I did remove mods, clear out caches as well as do a repair. It felt good when Crinrict was able to duplicate the problem but now you say you can't and that feels worrisome. When troubleshooting I moved my mods folder as someone said I could do but maybe I should just fully uninstall them through Curseforge and maybe even uninstall and reinstall the whole game as it doesn't take very long.

I tested on the karaoke machine and all I get is non-household members. Both don't have any singing level

Testing another one

EDIT: Seems there's some other factor to it. Needs more testing. I can still duplicate the issue on the first family I tried but in a different save, it works fine.

I just did a full uninstall of mods and the game and reinstalled. Created a household and they are able to go do duets together at Honeypop. So I put Mccc back in and they were successful again. Now I am undecided on my next step. Try my game save out at this point, or, reinstall the rest of my mods slowly and test as I go with the new couple?

So I thought about it and decided to re-add my saves since you like all testing without mods. I removed the Mccc first and made sure the new couple could still duet and they could. Then I added everything in the tray back and retested them again and everything still fine. Then I added my saves back in and tested with the newest couple I had made to test and the issue persists in that save. I switched to my testing save for my main game and the issue persists there too. So I decided to try creating a new household again and try, and they were successful. So the problem seems to be related to my main saves in some way. With that, I am completely out of ideas as to what to do.
