Symptom
When trying to load a world with a penthouse such as San Myshuno, or Ciudad Endamorada all I get is a white screen...
Ideas
Since the sep 18, 2025 update my game is getting stuck on the loading screen. The plumbob is spinning and the sentences are loading below the plumbob but it has been doing that for over 25 minutes so I had to force quit the game. I tried several times but it gets stuck. It’s doing this with a brand new save and with my older saved game it gets stuck loading the San Myshuno map and then I am forced to force quit the game, which is why I tried to start a new game. In that new game I moved a sim into an apartment in San Myshuno before the new game became unplayable. I also started another new game and it was working fine until I tried to load San Myshuno and it got stuck in the map loading screen too. I don’t use any mods and my computer is a Mac. I have all the expansions and game packs but not all the stuff packs. The issue seems to be connected to San Myshuno.
Could you please provide the following information
- Are you using mods/cc in your game ? Please remove them and test without them if you do.
- Do you have any LastException files in Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 4 ?- Delete the ones you have
- Trigger the error again
- Check if new ones are created
- If that is the case, please copy/paste the content here. You can open the file with any text editor.
Deleting the file won't fix your issue. Posting the info is meant for troubleshooting.Like I said in my original post I don’t use mods or cc.
jennythefoxybee Your operating system has a text editor (TextEdit) built in. If you double-click the file, it should just open in TextEdit. If it doesn't, right-click the file and select Open With, then choose TextEdit. It should be one of the default options.

The LastException file I posted is a new save where I was able to add a residential rental that I'm trying to finish in San Myshuno on the penthouse lot in the Arts Quarter and the game gets stuck on a loading screen and there is no way to play that save file at all even when loading into the save, I also moved my starter sim into San Myshuno in that save file but it was a normal apartment. I made that save file to try and solve this other game issue regarding San Myshuno, I am also experiencing a blank white map when trying to load into San Myshuno in any other new saves that I start (as long as the starter sim isn't moved into San Myshuno like in the save that doesn't load at all) and in my old saves including old saves with residential rentals that I have been working on in San Myshuno on the same penthouse lot and in many other maps. Those other saves that I haven't posted The LastException files for yet are playable as long as I don't go to the San Myshuno map or the current sim isn't living in San Myshuno. I don't think the residential rentals are causing these issues in my game since it happens if I place them or not. If you would like more of The LastException files from my other new saves with the white map problem let me know, I just didn't want to overwhelm this post with a bunch of them without any explanation. I can also start a brand new save without placing any lots and post the The LastException file I receive after I go to the missing map of San Myshuno if that would be helpful.
