I have had this with my llamas! Eventually, I came across a mod that is specifically for helping you get it back out. It's on CurseForge, I believe the modder is LittleMsSam if I remember correctly.
But after that point, I just stopped playing with cottage living animals.
oh but I didn't take my llama to the fair. I just was moving my llama's shed.
