I tested this with a premade and it's working fine for me. Did you use the same Sim in a new save game or a new one ? I do have BH installed but I don't think having the pack would fix this.
Did you try a game repair yet ?
Not sure what you mean by you loaded a set of files saved prior, does that mean you only get the bug once you saved the game ?
