I have been storing all of the potions earned from the events on a shelf in my Sim's dinning room. One day, I noticed they had all disappeared. I thought maybe the butler had started swiping them or my sims were autonomously drinking them. I cheated some satisfaction points to repurchase them from the Aspiration rewards and filled the shelves with potions once again. I took a screenshot and kept a sharper eye on my sims and their butler.
After a few weeks, it happen again... they all disappeared. Not just one or two, but ALL of them disappeared at the same time. Then I noticed that all the preserves on the kitchen shelves were missing too. I spent a weekend of hard work canning fruit & veggies and stocking the shelves again, but a few weeks later they disappeared again. 😲
I fired the butler and stocked both sets of shelves a third time, but they both went missing a few weeks later. It is a lot of work to replace these items over and over again, so now I am just leaving the shelves empty. 😥
Note - I play on PC and I only use a couple of very small mods (completely unrelated to food or potions) and it happens even with the mods removed. they do not disappear from the sims inventory or from the fridge, only the ones on display. It is random after a few weeks of playing, so I didn't pinpoint the cause.
