I can work on sending a save via Google Drive (I don't use One Drive) but in the meantime I have found and am testing a possible workaround for the Ubrite Commons cafeteria problem:
1) In Darby's Den build mode, change the Lot Type to Foxbury Commons. You can do this from the Neighbourhood screen or better yet in Live Mode when your Sim is on the lot.
2) Add the required Foxbury items (2 Robotics Stations & enough computers to bring it to four). Save.
3) Go into Live mode, send a Sim if you haven't already; the worker will show up and the food station functions normally. S/he'll be a Foxbury Vendor.
4) Change the Lot Type back to Ubrite Commons and save.
If you do this while your Sim is at Darby's you'll see the Foxbury Vendor leave and the Ubrite Vendor arrive.
If you do this between food service hours the Ubrite vendor will show up at the correct time.
Note: I am still testing this but it's been working consistently for me for about a week. My sim is no longer a student but I have her drop into Darby's Den often to see if it's still working right. So far, so good.
Try this and hopefully your Britechester U students should be able to eat for free until EA come up with a fix.
This also seems to fix the problem with either too many Sims showing up all at once or a completely deserted Ubrite Commons. The students now generate on the lot normally..Hope this helps. :-)
Thank you so much!!! This has been bugging me for so long! Alot of what I found online was blaming mods but I've been playing on Xbox. Changing the amount of Sims didn't work for me but your steps of changing lot type to foxbury and back again has. Hopefully they'll fix it eventually in case it happens again but thankful to have seen this work around.

It was consistently working fine for about a week - until last night. Same problems:
Too many students spawned all at once - and no Vendor. I had to change to Foxbury to kickstart a Vendor - which worked - then changed back but on the next visit a few minutes later (I was hopping back and forth testing this) it was broken again. One thing that did happen which didn't the whole six Sim weeks my Sim was a student is that the Debate Club finally showed up.
The optimist in me hopes this is because they are working on the problem to get it right.
More likely it has to do with launching the second week of the Time Travel Event - which occurred yesterday as well. This whole thing started in my game after the Reaper Event launched. Coincidence? Who knows.
I did notice something odd with the vendors. One of the Ubrite Vendors is/was Moira Fyres - but she is a Sim living in Willow Creek (with a family that includes twin infants btw). That shouldn't be right. So I went there and got her a "real job" and she is no longer a Vendor.
So I checked out the other Vendors. Does anyone who knows more about all this know if anything is weird about the following list?
I have the no. of Sims set to the recommended 200. I went to Manage Households and found that:
1) Sergio Romeo - Paragons Club - is nowhere in the game in any neighbourhood not even "Not in World". He just doesn't exist.
2) Lily Zhu -same as Romeo Sergio - is nowhere to be found
3) Dani Davila - same as the above - nowhere to be found
4) Nalani Mahi' ai - Exists - Not in World
5) Alvin Slater - Exists - Evergreen Harbour
It seems to me whichever status is correct it should be consistent either nowhere at all or Not In World but not a mix of the two.
I'm going back in to work on this now. I'm tempted to delete Nalani and Alvin and see who shows up to replace them. Or give them a house together and get them real jobs. I am really not ready to give up yet!Cheers.
