I'm playing a Sim who is enrolled in Britechester. For some reason my Sim got food for free there. The next time I tried getting food on it, this cafeteria station stopped working. It still works in Foxbury, where my Sim has no discount. No idea if this detail matters.
Of course, this Sim won't starve, since generous fellow students bring food to the dorms all the time.
