The game seems to have been designed to give the player the option to plant the Lightning Root and connect it to the grid to produce electricity and offset bills. I do not have the option to connect the Lightning Root plant to the grid. Is there a fix for this? How can I connect the Lightning Root plant to the grid?
The global test for this interaction requires the plant be at "Mature" level. If the plant has been allowed to Blossom, which comes after Mature, it will never show up.
It can be fixed by adding the Blossoming state as valid in the tests. I've made a mod for it:

Just wanted to second this, I was having this issue with no option to connect to grid when my lightning root plant was in the blossoming state, but after reading these posts I cheated it down to be in the mature state and the option to connect to grid suddenly showed up.
I'm actually not able to plant the Lightning Root either. It's in my sim's inventory and I believe she's maxed the gardening skill. I can't drag it like the rest of the plants, to the ground.
I've played both with and without mods & had the same issue.
"Connect to Power Grid" interaction is now available on lightning root when the plant has bloomed.
Fixed in Patch 1.119.109/2.23
