At first, I thought it was by design, but the more I think about it, the more it seems like a bug, or at least an oversight. Vampires and spellcasters can have their occult eyes (or any other type of occult eyes) from infancy. They can even have pointy ears. But fairies can’t get theirs until they reach teenagehood, and that doesn’t seem right.
I think they should be able to have fairy genetics (skin tone, eye color, ears) from birth, just like other occult types. Is there an explanation as to why they aren’t?

YESSS!!!! This is so frustrating, and upsetting. I made a bug report about this too, before realizing one was already open.
I was hoping at the VERY least, since they aren't select-able, that they'd be able to be inherited. Or even cheated in (Ie: Cas.Fulleditmode, then age them up, give them the eyes, and age them back down), but you can't do that either, and I've tested this, and they don't get inherited at all.
The only Fairy genetic I've noticed kinda porting over, is the Fae form skin color, because of my teen Sims got his dad's pink fairy form skin, but only in his Fairy form (which tracks since the dad is only pink in fairy form too). - rabellaka5 days agoNew Adventurer
I was disappointed that sims weren’t inheriting eye colours. I never thought to check if they were unavailable, like unnatural hair colours for kids.
