Do you have any other non-cc hair examples ? I can't duplicate this for the fern hair.
What are your graphics settings ?
Did you try a fresh folder ?
no, the dryad hair seems to be the only vanilla hair with "2-dimensional" assets. only the 2D fern leaves are glossy, 3D part of the hair is not glossy.
